Have you ever been to the Greek Festival in Charlotte? If you didn't make it over there this weekend then you definitely missed out. Even I found something to eat there!
Ohhh the desserts... I bet you're wishing that you had gone now!
I worked in a Greek restaurant in high school & college and my picky eating self did discover one little {very plain} Greek dessert that I love. These cookies are so good right out of the oven. Anyway, I was on a mission to find it and I'm pretty sure I found it within like 2 minutes of arriving. Mission accomplished.
I'm guessing the chicken pitas & gyros were good too...
Tips for the Greek Festival {to remember for next year}:
- Don't bother trying to park in the parking lot. It's pretty easy to find parking on the side streets and you won't have to walk as far.
- We went at about 6:30 on a Friday night and had very few lines. Things were picking up an hour later and lines were outrageous... go early.
- Get the Greek french fries. So good.
- Don't forget to check out all the cool things going on inside too. There were paintings, jewelry, little trinkets, etc that you could browse through or buy.
- Go HUNGRY! You'll probably want to try everything.
- & definitely take pictures with these guys:
Opa!

After a brief stop by the dessert tent, we made our way over to the food tents where they were serving mini Greek & cheese pizzas, chicken pitas, gyros, and Greek french fries. Ever had Greek french fries before?
A-maz-ing.
I'm guessing the chicken pitas & gyros were good too...
The more expensive {can't sit on a curb and eat it} type food was inside. Things like Grecian chicken & lamb... all of it looked delicious, we just didn't try any of it.
