Everyone has their own Christmas traditions that they enjoy with their family. My mom has one that she particularly enjoys and for those of you who know me outside of this blog, you've probably heard about this tradition of hers.
Every year on Christmas morning my mom wakes up both my brother and me and then runs downstairs so she can get in position to take pictures of us coming down the stairs. Wait. Nope. We don't even get to walk down the stairs. She wants a picture of us seated on the steps.
Every year these pictures are terrible.
C'mon.
It's first thing in the morning!
There are pajamas. Bed heads. Glasses. Sleepy faces. General unwillingness to be in a picture.
Every. Single. Year.
Unfortunately for you, those pictures will never see the light of day. They are awful & I don't think my brother would ever forgive me. This is about as good as it gets. Can you see how irritated we are to be sitting on the stairs at 26 & 23?
But this year, my parents found a way to keep us happy and on the stairs for pictures.
Orange juice, milk, and cookies!
I promise we both don't {ok I don't} thoroughly dislike pictures. Sometimes you can get a good one of us at Christmas!
& since it is January {& 2014 - yay!} I promise the Christmas posts are coming to an end. Soon. Maybe?
Happy New Year!
Such a cute tradition! Even though I'm sure when you were younger you just wanted to get down and open your gifts! Happy New Year :-)
ReplyDeleteI want to do something similar with my kids some day! Such a great idea.
