Savannah.
After years and years of wanting to visit this southern town I finally made it down there thanks to a friend's bachelorette weekend.
You know what?
I'm so glad that I never made it to Savannah until after I turned 21 because yes, hands down, my favorite thing about Savannah was being able to walk around the city with a beer. And yes, I realize I sound a little like an alcoholic by choosing that as my favorite thing about Savannah.
But... I'm alright with that. It was nice to be able to leave the house with a beer and go explore the city. It was very hospitable for the bars & restaurants to have to go cups for your beer as you were leaving to venture to a new place. It was a little weird to walk past cops who could have cared less that I was walking around with a glass of wine. Don't get me wrong though. I could totally get used to it.
It did make taking pictures a little difficult, but I'm blaming the constant threat of rain for that too. I took my SLR camera with me expecting to get some great pictures and the majority of my pictures from the weekend are on my iPhone. I kind of want to go back just so I can spend some time exploring Savannah from behind a lens.
I did do more than drink though... and I saw a fair bit of the city from walking around Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I ate some great food, explored River Street, saw a dozen other bachelorette/bachelor parties, found my childhood pastor's new church, walked past Juliette Gordon Low's house, and a lot more.
