The one slightly annoying thing about going to Kiawah is the fact that Kiawah isn't really close to anything other than Seabrook Island. Seabrook, like Kiawah, doesn't have a whole lot going on in terms of restaurants. There are a few here and there {like Red's Icehouse} but nothing like your typical "beach" restaurants you find at places like Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, Folly Beach, etc.
So when I found out exactly how close we would be to Sullivan's Island the other weekend, I knew that we would be making a trip out there to eat lunch at Poe's Tavern. The last time that Patrick and I had lunch at this restaurant was over four years ago and pre-pimento cheese obsession.
On pretty days, Poe's opens up all of their garage doors/windows and they let the warm ocean breeze and tons of sunlight in. The seating is first come, first served and you sit wherever you can find a seat at lunch. We picked to sit up at the bar.
Naturally, I had to have the Gold Bug Plus burger with pimento cheese. Patrick ordered the Spiced Yellowfin Tuna fish tacos.
Y'all.
I've had about a million pimento cheese burgers before but this might have been one of the best. I originally thought that there was too much pimento cheese on it and scraped some off... but ended up putting every bit of the cheese back on the burger. That stuff was awesome.
This place looks so cute and fun! That pimento cheese burger sounds amazing!! Looks like it was a gorgeous day out too!

Poe's Tavern is one of my favorite places on earth. We even have a print of the Paul Silva painting of Poe's Tavern in our house. Their shrimp salad is also amazing.
