Morning! Yup. Still on vacation over here and still loooooving it. If you aren't already, you should go ahead and follow me on instagram where you can see what I'm up to on my vacation. You might even catch a glimpse of the little guy who popped by for a visit yesterday morning & hung out under our front porch. But anyway, back to the guest blogs...
Hey y’all! My name is Ashley, and I am coming over from Virginia Sweet.
I am so honored that my dear friend, Chesson, asked me to guest blog while she is vacationing in Kiawah right now! I am totally jealous that she is soaking up the sun, training for a marathon, scouting out alligators and grilling some yummy food this week! AND, she has a big birthday coming up that I’m sure she’ll be celebrating! So, you are probably wondering how I know Chesson. We met in high school and had a few classes together, but didn’t really become close friends until our freshman year at Clemson. We ended up joining the same sorority, and also ended up living together our junior and senior year. After many late nights, pool days and mixers, Chesson quickly became one of my best friends. I was lucky to have her as a bridesmaid in my wedding. Although she is in Charlotte and I am in Greenville, we still keep in touch but hardly see each other enough! As you know, Chesson is a huge Clemson football fan…and guess what?! So am I. I can’t wait to see her for the home games in the fall {side note from Chesson: only 52 days to go!}
{My town}
My husband and I live in Greenville, South Carolina. After growing up in the same hometown, Andrew and I both graduated from Clemson. I followed him to Atlanta after graduating 2 years later than him. I thought that was our town. Boy, was I wrong! It didn’t take me long to fall in love with the city, and after a few short years, Andrew’s company asked us to relocate to Greenville. I’d be lying if I told you that I was excited about this transition. During this time, Andrew moved to Greenville to begin work, but I had to stay back in Atlanta for a while until I could transfer with my job…and we were planning a wedding to be held in Columbia, SC. What a time that was! After finally joining Andrew in Greenville, it definitely took me a while to warm up to this new city. Now, if you are familiar with South Carolina at all, you are probably wondering “But isn’t Greenville so close to your Alma Mater and much closer to your hometown?” Well, yes, it is. However, it was still a transition for me. Just like how I quickly fell in love with Atlanta, I quickly fell in love with Greenville. Andrew and I currently live downtown, and absolutely love the convenience of having over 90 restaurants, 15 boutiques, art galleries and beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy River all located on one street. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful, small-home feel city. Here are just a few pictures that will hopefully paint a picture of Greenville.
Please head on over to Virginia Sweet and follow the daily adventures of Caroline and me!
xoxo,
Ashley
