To be honest, I don't remember much from right after the race other than the fact that I gulped down three huge cups of water and took a lot of pictures with people.
Have you ever tried to be happy and smile in a picture while you're still crying? Yeah.
The smiling won out over the tears pretty quickly though.
I could not have done this half marathon without these two. Jessie ran my first ever 5K with me a year and a half ago and Hannah has been there for almost every training run this fall. They both have been there for plenty of group chat conversation encouragement, too!
We took one normal picture and then I made Devan pretend like we were back in high school again... go Foxes!
Meet Dottie. She's kind of awesome. This is the 4th race that we've run together.
We were a little excited to hear about how well each other had done during the race.
It took a few minutes, but eventually the cold started setting in and more layers were necessary. Wanna know what I can't do after running 13.1 miles? Put on a pair of yoga pants by myself.
With the race complete, it was time for naps before our celebration party. Because you know what? Every single half marathon requires naps & celebration parties.
You are so dang cute! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteLove that the smile won out over the tears! You're one tough cookie...and I'm so impressed with your accomplishment!
