I'll tell you what, there's something about a weekend at the beach that is good for the soul. That combination of salty, humid air combined with sand beneath your toes, a drink in your hand, and good friends surrounding you does wonders.
It was a much needed weekend by the time that we all arrived super late Friday night { ... or very early Saturday morning}.
I started out my Saturday on Edisto by sleeping in and then taking off for a two mile run around the island. Who's ready for me to continually talk about running / half marathons for the next ten months?! Get excited, y'all.
The rest of Saturday morning was spent running errands around the island and sippin' on a Peach Bellini {otherwise known as the "Chessini"} before scooting down to the beach for a little bit.
Our favorite Londoner thoroughly enjoyed being back in the warm sunshine and by the ocean, if you couldn't tell.
& the boys had fun playing games.
But my favorite part of the weekend was Saturday night's dinner.
That's right. I finally got my Low Country Boil!!!!
Plus, a pretty sunset.
But most importantly, the Low Country Boil.
When your Sunday morning starts out with Funfetti pancakes {compliments of Patrick's mom & Patrick} and bacon and at the beach... you know that it's going to be a great Sunday.
Why the Funfetti pancakes you ask?

It was the perfect weekend to end year #26 for me.
Don't worry. I plan on doing a full week of birthday celebrations around here {did you expect any less?} but it was nice to have a slow, lazy weekend at the beach to get it started!
