Things you shouldn't do when getting married in Columbia, SC at the end of July:
... anything outdoors.
Yet we took almost every single picture outside. Family pictures. Bridesmaid & groomsmen pictures. Bride & groom post-ceremony pictures.
Probably not the best idea I've ever had. But the courtyard at the church was too pretty not to use. And the red front doors are symbolic of a Lutheran church and needed to be in the background of some pictures. And the State House? I've always loved the State House.
I think Patrick is still holding the grudge against me because no guy should ever be subjected to pictures outside, in the 100 degree heat {plus humidity}, in a full suit. But I had to have our pictures here so he humored me and went along with it.
Have I mentioned that our bridal party is the best ever?
We took a shuttle from the church to the State House {and might have passed around bourbon and prosecco along the way} and hopped out to take pictures on the front steps of the State House.
It was hot. Really hot.
Reaaaaaaaaaally hot.
Reaaaaaaaaaally hot.
Like I said, it wasn't my best decision ever. But our bridal party rocked it.
Plus, our photographer 100% rocked it and snapped this shot which is probably one of my top 3 favorite pictures of the entire day:
& when we found out that we were done with our pictures and could go to the reception?

ReplyDeleteThat is my BIGGEST concern about our October wedding... and a big reason I wanted spring. Our whole wedding is inside but I definitely want outdoor picture - our venue is too pretty not to! So.... however. You look amazing and these pictures are still gorgeous!

ReplyDeletehahaha well i don't think our day was as hot, but KC was definitely like 'can we be done yet?!' with our photos. good thing the man has no hair, otherwise he'd have been even more miserable. i'm surprised he left his jacket on as long as he did. every time he complained i was like dude. do you see how much dress i am wearing?! HUSH.
